About brasize.app

What this site is

brasize.app is a free bra size calculator with guides for measuring, sister sizes and converting sizes between countries. It is written for every body and uses neutral line drawings, never photos of people. It is published by Takreparation Skåne AB in Ängelholm, Sweden.

How sizes are calculated

  • Band (US, UK, AU): snug underbust in inches, rounded to the nearest even number. AU/NZ band = UK band − 22.
  • Cup: the average of the bust measurements you enter, minus the band, rounded to the nearest inch. 1 = A, 2 = B, 3 = C and so on, with UK and US letters as in the charts.
  • Centimetres: converted to inches first (1 in = 2.54 cm).
  • EU, French and AU sizes: the band pairs used on most retail charts (30 = 65, 32 = 70, 34 = 75 …) and the letter order shown on the conversion page.

This site uses the tape method followed by most current fitting guides: the band is your snug underbust in inches, rounded to the nearest even number, and the cup is the difference between your bust and that band, one letter per inch. Some older guides tell you to add 4 or 5 inches to the underbust for the band. Most modern guides no longer do this, and it tends to give a looser band and smaller cup. If you are used to that method, your result here may show a smaller band and larger cup letter than you expect.

What we do not claim

Sizes are not standardised between brands, countries or even styles from the same brand. A calculator gives you a good place to start; how the bra actually feels on your body decides. We are not bra fitters and the site gives no medical advice. There are no experts or certificates behind this site, just the method above, shown openly, and automated tests of the calculations.
